The Writing Inspiration

Sitting at Thomas Hardy’s desk in his home on a Road Scholar trip (see Travel Diary Raleigh to Literary England, May 2016), Kinman receives inspiration to write—but not like T.H.! From this trip came the Greenway series of mystery short stories set at Agatha Christie’s holiday home named Greenway.

The Book Talk & Signing

The Play

One of Kinman’s most exciting moments—talking to the actors who performed her play Baskets to Jade, a biographical work about Grace Nicholson, a unique business woman in the early 1900s in Pasadena, California.

The Acting

The Travel

The Journey

On a Road Scholar trip to Crete (See Travel Diary Crete and Athens March-April 2019), one of the members of the group, Betsy Wenger, wanted to take Kinman’s picture as her outfit matched the doorknob in Heraklion. No murder on this trip—yet.

For The Children

Kinman, just before her interactive workshop on “How To Write a Mystery” at the Hasting Ranch Branch Library in Pasadena, California, to children’s book writers and illustrators, posing before the mystery mural featuring the Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Scooby-Doo, and Sherlock Holmes.
